3 ruthless decisions Mumbai Indians could take after IPL 2024

Despite trying everything before the season, Mumbai Indians have yet again fallen short in IPL 2024. For a team that wants to be winning trophies consistently, it is a big disappointment for them. Therefore, the management might be forced to take some hard decisions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three ruthless decisions Mumbai Indians could take after IPL 2024.

1) Release Hardik Pandya

The arrival of Hardik Pandya has brought negativity to the franchise. Although the player has no role in this, Mumbai Indians have become a troll because of this trade.

On top of this, Hardik’s performance as a skipper and a player has been poor. While he has been terrible with the bat, he has been inconsistent with the ball. As a captain, he has made some debatable choices, as well.

2) Release Rohit Sharma

Releasing Rohit Sharma is one of the ruthless decisions Mumbai Indians could take after IPL 2024. This will be a ruthless move and could have a lot of implications but Mumbai Indians are capable of doing this.

Rohit Sharma has been extremely poor as a batter in the last decade in IPL. He has hardly delivered and this is a big issue for an opener of his stature. Now that he is also not the skipper and with a Mega Auction looming around, MI could consider releasing Rohit.

3) Sack the core support staff

Mark Boucher is surely set to face the sack. However, there will also be an eye on the other members of the support staff.

Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard were hired mainly because they were former Mumbai Indians cricketers and not because of their coaching credentials. This is something MI might want to address in the coming seasons. Hence, it would not be a surprise if one or both of them are relieved off their duties after IPL 2024.
