Mumbai Indians are running out of time at the moment. They need to start winning games or else they could lose way. If that does not happen, the ruthless MI management could take some hard decisions. That could also involve sacking the Head Coach. Mark Boucher, so far, has not had an impact with respect to tactics or style of play. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three replacement options if Mumbai Indians sack Mark Boucher on the continuation of the poor run.
1) Mahela Jayawardene
If MI sack Mark Boucher, it is not necessary that find a replacement option for the long-term. It could also be a short-term option until the end of the year. They could then appoint a new Head Coach before the next season after scouting the right candidate.
In this regard, Mahela would be the perfect option. He is already available within the management and he has the experience of winning titles. Hence, he could return as the Head Coach.
2) Mike Hesson
Mike Hesson is in good form as a coach. He recently won a title in the Pakistan Super League. Hence, Mumbai Indians could consider him.
Hesson has a good record in the recent IPL seasons. Last season did not go well for RCB but otherwise, as a Director of Cricket, he was excellent for the outfit.
3) Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard is one of the replacement options if Mumbai Indians sack Mark Boucher on the continuation of the poor run. Sometimes, the Interim option could also get a lengthy extension. If MI wants to keep this option, as well, they could target Pollard.
The current batting coach has also done well as a skipper. He belongs to the modern T20 era and would be a neat option for the franchise.
