RCB has retained only Indian players before the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The management said that it was a decision made in the discussions prior to deciding the retentions. That said, RCB will have a plethora of options to choose from for the overseas contingent. Here, we take a look at the list of three released overseas batters from other teams whom RCB could target in IPL 2025 Auctions.
1) Jos Buttler
Rajasthan Royals will try everything in their capacity to buy back Jos Buttler, mainly because of the relationship between the two parties. However, it will not be very easy for them.
Teams such as RCB will be looking at a player like him. In fact, Jos will be the ideal replacement for Faf du Plessis as the skipper and the opening batter. Since he is also a wicket-keeper, the franchise will have one less thing to worry about, as well.
2) Phil Salt
Phil Salt is one of the released overseas batters from other teams whom RCB could target in IPL 2025 Auctions. The released KKR opener will be one of the names that will chased by his former squad again. He did really well in IPL 2024.
The Englishman will also be an ideal fit at RCB. He is young and with the short boundaries likely to help him, hiring Salt could be a priority for the management. Hence, he is on this list.
3) David Miller
RCB needs a left-hander in the middle order. At the same time, the squad needs a finisher to replace Dinesh Karthik. Since the teams will be reset after three years, RCB can consider a few veterans for this role.
David Miller will be an ideal fit for the franchise. He can operate at No.5 for the team. The Chinnaswamy Stadium will also help Miller do well, especially because of the short boundaries.
