3 Reasons Why Becky Lynch Vs Trish Stratus Not Happening At WWE SummerSlam 2023 Is The Right Move

Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus not happening at WWE SummerSlam has sparked a massive debate on social media platforms. Many fans are angry with the creative team because they felt that the women’s match deserved to be a part of the show.

There are eight matches on the SummerSlam match card, but only two of them feature women. The first is the triple threat Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair and Asuka. It is also one of the four main events for the premium live event.

The second match is the MMA Rules match between Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, which will likely be the former’s last match in WWE for the foreseeable future. A lot of fans felt that Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus could have been added to the SummerSlam match card as well. However, are three reasons why WWE not adding it to the match card of the premium live event is the right move.

1. Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus will now happen in Canada

Canada is the home of WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Although Stratus may not be happy with the chance of having missed out to wrestle in front of a large audience at Ford Field, she would be happy that she will now get to have one of the biggest matches of her career in front of her home fans in Canada. The crowd should be loud for the match.

2. There was a high chance of Becky vs Trish match being cut short

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus have been feuding on RAW over the last four months. Their rivalry deserves an ending at a premium live event. However, WWE has already announced a stacked lineup for SummerSlam.

There was a significant probability of Becky vs Trish match being cut short due to time constraints. It would have hurt the quality of the match. The efforts put by Becky and Trish would have gone in vain.

3. It will improve WWE’s relations with USA Network

Over the last few years, WWE has produced some average quality episodes of RAW, which have hurt the viewership numbers on USA Network. With a premium live event quality match announced weeks in advance for the August 14 episode of RAW, it should get a big number on TV.
