3 Popular Players Who Will Play For Chennai Super Kings For The First Time In IPL History

The Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL history. They have won four trophies in the league since 2008 and are the defending champions of the tournament heading into its 15th edition in 2022.

For the first time in IPL history, the Chennai Super Kings do not have Suresh Raina in their starting squad. The 2011 World Cup winner went unsold at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction as none of the teams showed interest in his services.

Speaking of things that will happen for the first time in IPL history this year, the following three popular names will don the Chennai Super Kings jersey for the first time in their respective careers.

1. Shivam Dube will play for Chennai Super Kings for the first time in IPL history

Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube previously played for the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He performed well for RR in a match against the Super Kings last year in the IPL. It seems his performance won the respect of the CSK team management, which is why they fought a bidding war at the mega auction to sign the pace-bowling all-rounder for the first time ever.

2. Chris Jordan

Another former Royal Challengers Bangalore player to appear on the list is Chris Jordan. Like Shivam Dube, Jordan bowls right-arm pace and can bat as well. However, Dube is a batting all-rounder, where Jordan is a bowling all-rounder. Both all-rounders will provide balance to the CSK squad in IPL 2022.

3. Devon Conway

In just a short amount of time, Devon Conway has become one of the most popular players in New Zealand cricket. Conway made his Test debut last year and scored a double ton against England. He has been impressive in the T20I format also and played a vital role in New Zealand’s journey to the T20 World Cup final. It will be interesting to see how Conway performs in CSK’s jersey this year.
