November 30th was the last date for players to register for IPL 2024 Auctions. It is the players who get the choice to pick their base price. Of course, there are some criteria for players to fill if they have to get to the higher base price amounts. Some players strategically chose to be in the lower bracket. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who have underpriced themselves in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Wanindu Hasaranga – INR 1.5 Cr
For a player of Wanindu‘s stature, a base price of INR 2 Cr is expected. Especially when you see some uncapped foreigners in that bracket, Wanindu’s name was a major miss.
Nevertheless, Wanindu will be an attractive player for most franchises. He has good experience in the T20 format and will instantly add value to the side.
2) Rachin Ravindra – INR 0.5 Cr
Rachin Ravindra is one of the players who have underpriced themselves in IPL 2024 Auctions. The star of the 2023 ODI World Cup, it would have not been shocking if Rachin was listed in the highest base price bracket.
However, it is at INR 50 Lakhs that teams would start bidding for the Indian-origin Kiwi all-rounder. While he was expected to fetch a good price, it is now pretty sure that he would land an IPL contract.
3) Daryl Mitchell – INR 1 Cr
Daryl Mitchell had an unsuccessful stint in the IPL a few seasons ago. However, that is a thing of the past. At the moment, he is in top form. Daryl scored two centuries against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He also plays spin well and bowls medium pace.
Considering he is experienced, as well, many would have expected him in the top bracket. However, Daryl has chosen for teams to start bidding for him from INR 1 Cr. It might actually work in his favour as the first bid will not take a long time to come up.
