3 players who came back to their old franchise in IPL 2024 Auctions

It is common for teams to invest in cricketers whom they know very well. Due to various factors, they might have lost them in the past. However, if there is an opportunity to sign the player back, depending on how the player did for them, the teams might hire them again. In IPL 2024 Auctions, as well, we saw quite a few players going back to their old sides. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players who came back to their old franchise in IPL 2024 Auctions.

1) Shardul Thakur – Chennai Super Kings

Of course, the biggest name on this list is Shardul Thakur. He went back to CSK and that too at a price of just INR 4 Cr. It was a steal for CSK.

With Shardul in the side, CSK now gets a good option in the middle overs and probably even at the death. Moreover, Shardul adds terrific batting depth, something that MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming always prefer to have.

2) Shreyas Gopal – Mumbai Indians

Shreyas Gopal is one of the players who came back to their old franchise in IPL 2024 Auctions. In the final stages, MI hired Shreyas Gopal in the IPL 2024 Auctions.

It was a move that was on the predicted lines. MI needed a backup for Shreyas Gopal and there were not many experienced options. Hence, they opted for Shreyas, who had done well for the side in the past. He also adds batting depth to the side.

3) Manish Pandey – Kolkata Knight Riders

While Manish Pandey was unsold at the start, he was picked up by KKR in the end. It appears that Gautam Gambhir had a role to play in this.

Manish would be a backup option for the Indian batters. In fact, he could even open the batting depending on the form of the likes of Venkatesh Iyer.
