As per reports, a few franchises have asked BCCI to have an additional slot to retain uncapped players before the next season. The idea is that the franchises get a chance to retain the talent whom they have groomed. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB could retain in the uncapped slot before IPL 2025.
1) Yash Dayal
A few years ago, after his first brilliant season with Gujarat Titans, Yash Dayal got selected for the Indian Team. However, he did not get to play any games.
IPL 2024 was very vital for him. He did extremely well and helped RCB reach the playoffs. Considering that RCB has already unearthed the best in him, they could want to continue with him. He is still young and would be a perfect retention.
2) Mahipal Lomror
Mahipal Lomror is one of the players RCB could retain in the uncapped slot before IPL 2025. It is hard to get a left-handed middle-order batter these days. Considering the experience that Mahipal already has and the fact that he is still young, he would definitely be worthy of retention.
It would be key to have Mahipal bat at the correct batting slot. He is good against spinners and the best slot would therefore be at No.4. Also, if he can work on his bowling, he would be a valuable asset for any side that he plays for.
3) Suyash Prabhudessai
Suyash Prabhudessai is also on this list. The main reason for this is that RCB has invested in the Goa cricketer. The next season could be the campaign when Suyash has a solid run.
Now, he is someone who is in need of consistent opportunities. RCB could groom him as a finisher mainly because he has good range against pacers. Therefore, he is on this list.
