Glenn Maxwell was poor in IPL 2024. Even in the 2024 T20 World Cup, he has not been great till now. Considering his age and the fact that RCB needs to plan for the future, they might not retain Maxwell. In fact, they may not buy him again, as well. He is a good player of spin but Rajat Patidar is available to take care of this side. Hence, RCB could be free to chose the middle-order batter of their choice. Here, we take a look at the list of three players RCB can realistically target to replace Glenn Maxwell for IPL 2025.
1) Aiden Markram
With SRH likely to release him, there would be multiple franchises which would be happy to sign a player and a captain like Markram.
Markram is not the best against spin but he can hold the innings in the middle-order. Plus, he can bowl some off-spin, which would add balance to the side.
2) Liam Livingstone
Liam Livingstone is one of the players RCB can realistically target to replace Glenn Maxwell for IPL 2025. If some team can use Livingstone at No.3 or No.4, it could get the best out of him.
Livingstone is brute force and RCB might need such a player in the middle-order. He is also a decent spinner and could support the main spinner. Therefore, he can be a target for RCB.
3) Ben Stokes
If Ben Stokes is available from the next season of IPL, a few teams could target him. RCB needs a left-hander in the middle-order and Stokes would be a perfect fit for the franchise.
Stokes, on his day, can change the game completely. With Virat Kohli playing freely at the top, there would be a need for some experience in the middle order. Here is where someone like Stokes fits the batt. Adding to this, he can also captain the team.
