1) Sam Curran
As a player, Sam Curran was not at his best. However, as a captain, he was not bad. He made some good and bold decisions on the field and this helped the Punjab Kings in a few games.
It is hard to get an all-rounder like Sam Curran in the market. Considering his age, it may not be a surprise if PBKS retains him. If they retain him, there is a chance that he could become the skipper, as well.
2) Nitish Rana
Nitish Rana is one of the players Punjab Kings could target as captain for IPL 2025. The KKR cricketer is likely to be released by the franchise because there are other retention options.
Nitish did a good job as a skipper in IPL 2023. He is a quality domestic left-handed middle-order batter, a profile that is very hard to get. Hence, PBKS could try to hire him at the auctions. With this, they could fill multiple boxes, including that of a part-time right-arm off-spinner.
3) Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram is likely to leave SRH at the end of the season. He is sure to command interest at the auctions due to his leadership skills.
Markram played for Punjab before and knows the environment there. He is a good option for No.3. With his experience as a player and a captain, he would be a good fit at Punjab.
