In the first news of the IPL 2024 Trade Window, Mumbai Indians have struck a deal to bring Romario Shepherd from Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2024. With the West Indian all-rounder coming in, it could mean the end of the stint for a few cricketers at the franchise. Here, we take a look at the list of three players Mumbai Indians might release after trading Romario Shepherd from LSG.

1) Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer could be released by MI before IPL 2024 Auctions. The player has been having too many injury issues and also did not do well for the franchise when he played for them.

Jofra commands a huge salary, and MI could look at optimizing this. While they would prefer getting him back at a cheaper rate, the management must also be ready to lose him if they cannot.

2) Duan Jansen

Duan Jansen is one of the players Mumbai Indians might release after trading Romario Shepherd from LSG. The South African teenager is the most likely player to be impacted by this move.

While his brother Marco is doing excellently, Duan is yet to take the next step in his career. IPL 2024 would have been a solid chance for him to show his skills to the world. However, Romario adds better balance to the side and as a batter, he would suit Wankhede. Hence, Jansen could be released.

3) Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan replaced Jofra Archer in the final stages of the tournament. MI still has the option to retain the English experienced bowler. However, with Romario coming in, MI might not do that.

Jordan has a habit of leaking runs at times. Romario is also similar but the West Indian is levels above with the bat. Since Romario can also bowl with the new ball, he would a top contender to take up a slot in the playing XI.
