Gujarat Titans had a poor run in IPL 2024. They were good in the previous two seasons. However, Hardik Pandya‘s move away from the outfit and Mohammed Shami’s absence had a big role to play. The team would want to make some vital changes ahead of the next season. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players Gujarat Titans will surely release before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) Wriddhiman Saha
Wriddhiman Saha failed in IPL 2024. He could not provide the starts in the powerplay that he gave in the last two seasons. Hence, GT was left in limbo in the powerplay, leading to a disappointing run.
B Sai Sudharsan will be the opening partner for Gill in the future. There would be multiple wicket-keepers in the fray in the auctions. GT will target one of them and hence, they could release Saha.
2) Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav is one of the players Gujarat Titans will surely release before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Although Umesh had a decent start, he tapered off as the season progressed. If there is no Impact Player rule, Umesh might find it difficult to retain his contract with GT.
Sandeep Warrier did well in the powerplay and he could be signed up by GT in the auctions. Umesh has limited opportunities to find his way back to the GT camp.
3) Vijay Shankar
Vijay Shankar was given ample chances in IPL 2024. However, the Tamil Nadu all-rounder just could not leave a mark with his performances.
Vijay could still find success at a different team. However, at GT, it appears that his time is over. Gujarat will scout for a younger all-rounder to be a part of the outfit. It would help them in the long run. Hence, Vijay Shankar is very likely to be released by the franchise.
