In the current era, with multiple T20 leagues around, it is not uncommon for coaches to target players whom they know well. These cricketers fit the philosophy of the coach and it would be easy for him to implement ideas wherever he goes. Especially in Andy Flower‘s case, it is highly seen that he repeatedly targets a few players at different franchises. Now that he has taken over at RCB, here, we take a look at three players from Andy Flower’s Trent Rockets whom RCB might target for IPL 2024.
1) Dawid Malan
Former No.1 T20I batter has not found success in IPL. However, it needs to be said that he has also not got so many chances. That said, if utilized, he can do well in the competition.
He is more of a run aggregator whom RCB already has. Keeping the future in mind and also considering Malan‘s technical capabilities, he can be a good choice for the unit. He would be like a CSK’s Devon Conway kind of a signing for the outfit.
2) Lewis Gregory
Lewis Gregory is the skipper of Trent Rockets in the Hundred 2023. A medium-pace bowling all-rounder, he is quite experienced in the format.
RCB does not have a good overseas pace-bowling all-rounder. Gregory fits the bill perfectly. Moreover, since he has played under Flower, the franchise can target him.
3) Tom Kohler-Cadmore
Tom Kohler-Cadmore is one of the players from Andy Flower’s Trent Rockets whom RCB might target for IPL 2024. Finn Allen is yet to make his debut in IPL. His form in other events has also dropped.
RCB can move on from him and instead invest in someone like Tom Kohler-Cadmore. The Englishman is also a wicket-keeper and can be a good asset for the franchise. The conditions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium will also suit a player like him.
