As per reports, franchises are pushing the BCCI to grand an additional slot to retain uncapped players. The reason is that this would allow the teams to retain the uncapped players whom they have groomed. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players Delhi Capitals could retain in the uncapped slot before the IPL 2025 Auctions.
1) Abishek Porel
Abishek Porel did well in the limited chances he got at Delhi in the last two seasons. Both as a finisher and also in the top order, the West Bengal lad performed well. He has got a good range and just needs to add some power.
While Delhi could target him as one of the openers, he could also operate at No.3. Of course, he will be the backup keeper for Rishabh Pant.
2) Yash Dhull
Yash Dhull is one of the players Delhi Capitals could retain in the uncapped slot before the IPL 2025 Auctions. It may not be a good idea to give up on Yash Dhull, who was once seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket. He is yet to get those chances to prove his credentials.
If Yash fulfils his potential, DC will have a fine player on their hands. He would open the batting for the next decade and also become a captaincy candidate in the future.
3) Rasikh Salam
Rasikh Salam Dar was one of the finds for DC in IPL 2024. He had pace and also showed some variations in the middle overs. He certainly has the talent to go on and become an Indian player in the future.
Interestingly, the youngster also displayed some decent skills with the bat in the lower order. This could be a good area to develop and add more value to the playing XI. Hence, DC could retain him.
