Chennai Super Kings made good use of the Impact Player rule in IPL 2023. The likes of Shivam Dube and Ambati Rayudu were mostly used in this rule. This allowed the team to perform better. All eyes will be on MS Dhoni on how he chooses to use this rule in IPL 2024. Here, we take a look at the list of three players whom CSK could use as an Impact Player in IPL 2024.
1) Tushar Deshpande
With Shardul Thakur in the team, Tushar Deshpande might not feature in the first XI for CSK. This is despite him picking a lot of wickets last season. However, he has a good chance to operate as an Impact Player.
Tushar is someone who could bowl mostly in the death overs. Hence, CSK could make use of his services at only this phase of the game. He could either replace a batter or a powerplay specialist like Mukesh Choudhary.
2) Sameer Rizvi
Sameer Rizvi is one of the exciting names for CSK in IPL 2024. He is a quality player of spin and CSK spent a lot to hire him at the auctions.
Most likely, he will be used as an Impact Player. Sameer could don the role that Ambati Rayudu essayed last season. It will be interesting to see the batting slot at which Sameer would play, though.
3) Nishant Sindhu
Nishant Sindhu is one of the players whom CSK could use as an Impact Player in IPL 2024. IPL 2024 could see the debut of Nishant Sindhu. Since CSK might not afford Moeen Ali in the playing XI, the team might need an extra spin option.
Here is where someone like Nishant could get a chance. He is an all-rounder and CSK likes depth in the batting department. Therefore, we could even see Nishant get a chance as an Impact Player during the batting inning.
