After a disappointing campaign in IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings will look to make a strong comeback. The franchise has INR 20.45 Cr to spend on the squad. A few vital members such as Dwayne Bravo and Robin Uthappa have retired. While the team must replace them, they must also infuse some fresh blood to bring out a better show next season. The IPL 2023 Auctions will happen on December 23rd in Kochi. On that note, here, we take a look at three players CSK can target whose base price is 50L in IPL 2023 Auctions.
1) Sikandar Raza
Sikandar Raza is one of the few Zimbabwe players to take part in the auctions. The all-rounder has been doing well and might finally land a contract in IPL.
Raza would be the perfect backup for Moeen Ali. While Raza can bat at No.3 or No.4, at Chepauk, the cricketer can provide four overs of off-spin. He is an experienced campaigner and for INR 50L, he would be a decent investment for the franchise.
2) Mandeep Singh

Although Mandeep Singh has been playing in the IPL, his recent years have not been great. Not many teams would be interested in his services and hence, procuring him at his base price of INR 50L may not be a problem.
Mandeep is an experienced name and can bat in the middle order or in the lower middle order. He is just the kind of batter whom MS Dhoni likes and can bring out the best from. For Mandeep, as well, a stint at CSK could help.
3) Romario Shepherd
Romario Shepherd is one of the players CSK can target whose base price is 50L in IPL 2023 Auctions. The West Indian all-rounder went for a big sum last season. However, he was not able to justify his price tag. Therefore, the demand for him would be less this time around.
CSK needs a replacement for Dwayne Bravo and although Shepherd is not exactly of that profile, he has the potential to do what Bravo was doing for CSK. The 28-year-old must work on his variations at the death and he would then be a fine addition for the franchise.
