Deepak Chahar’s injury woes have continued in IPL 2024. As per reports, he could be out of the ongoing season of IPL 2024. Chennai Super Kings might replace him with a cricketer who would add value to the side. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players CSK can target to replace Deepak Chahar if he is ruled out of IPL 2024.
1) Musheer Khan
CSK has the likes of Simarjeet Singh already in the squad who can replace Deepak Chahar. However, the team might need a batter to replace someone like Ajinkya Rahane at the top.
Musheer Khan is a growing cricketer and has a lot of potential. CSK can retain him as an uncapped cricketer if he starts doing well in the upcoming months. To have this option, they could consider retaining the Mumbai all-rounder.
2) Kulwant Khejroliya
Kulwant Khejroliya is one of the players CSK can target to replace Deepak Chahar if he is ruled out of IPL 2024. The left-arm seamer is already a part of the CSK camp as a net bowler. In the past, Kulwant has played for teams such as MI, RCB & KKR.
He had a good domestic season recently. A left-arm pacer, he can bowl at different phases of the game. CSK could take him in the squad for this reason.
3) Mahesh Kumar
Not many know of this cricketer Mahesh Kumar. He has not played any form of professional cricket until now. At the moment, he is with RCB as a net bowler.
The speciality of Mahesh is that his bowling action resembles that of Jasprit Bumrah. He was a part of the Gujarat Titans camp as a net bowler in the past. Even if Mahesh can realize a bit of the level that Bumrah has reached, he would be a good bowler and a great addition to CSK.
