While Devon Conway is already present in the squad, CSK might incline to have more options on the roster. In this regard, they could eye a few names in IPL 2024 Auctions. 1) Tom Kohler-Cadmore
The 28-year-old from England is a popular name in the T20 leagues. He has been doing well and his show in PSL 2023 was worth remembering.
Yes, the batter could have some issues adjusting to the conditions at Chepauk but he is anyways going to come in as a back-up option. Hence, assuming he would develop further, CSK can target him for the next season.
2) Travis Head
Travis Head is one of the overseas wicket-keepers whom CSK could target for IPL 2024. He is a part-time wicket-keeper but it would be the perfect time to invest in him.
Travis Head does have a few shortcomings on spinning tracks but that is something CSK would already be aware of. Apart from his keeping skills, Head can also offer a few overs with the ball. Hence, CSK can also consider him as a decent alternative to Moeen Ali in the squad.
3) Bhanuka Rajapaksa (If Punjab Kings release him)
Rajapaksa did not have a great outing in IPL 2023. With Jonny Bairstow set to return, PBKS could release him before the next season.
It would be a great opportunity for CSK to target him in the auctions. He would be a perfect player for CSK, considering his profile and his strengths against spin bowling. Of course, he can also act as a part-time wicket-keeper, something that he has also done for Punjab Kings in the past.
