Sanjay Bangar was good in IPL 2022 but his tactics failed in IPL 2023. There were many occasions when his strategies were baffling. Yes, even Mike Hesson might have had a role but RCB might be better off with a fresh philosophy. In that regard, they could try to have a new candidate sit as the Head Coach. Here, we take a look at three options for RCB if they want to replace Sanjay Bangar as the Head Coach for the next season.
1) Tom Moody
Tom Moody is a terrific coach. He has had issues with respect to man management but if Mike Hesson can stay by him, this combination might work.
RCB needs a strong bowling unit and Moody is known to build good T20 attacks. This would help the squad do well at their home ground. Hence, he features on this list.
2) Justin Langer
Justin Langer is one of the options for RCB if they want to replace Sanjay Bangar as the Head Coach for the next season. The former Australian Head Coach is a strong character and this is something that might actually be needed at RCB.
Having won the T20 World Cup in 2021, Langer has experience in winning high-profile trophies. His appointment could have counter-effects but it also has a good chance of delivering positive results for the franchise.
3) Eoin Morgan
Eoin Morgan recently retired from all forms of the game. He has already shown interest in taking up coaching as his next profession.
Morgan relies a lot on statistics to make things work in the field. He has experience of winning trophies and his philosophy of white-ball cricket is what is being used by many other teams right now. It might be a risk to get someone very new to this profession. However, RCB need to make moves that takes them to the trophy as early as possible.
