Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who played in County 2024 and could get selected for the England Tour in 2025.
1) B Sai Sudharsan
Even before playing for Team India, Sai played in the County Championship for Surrey. He was actually decent in his first stint. Now, he has been signed up by the same side again.
India would need to plan a future replacement for Rohit Sharma in Tests. At the same time, it is better to have a ready backup for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sai would be a wonderful prospect in both these aspects. Since he has experience, as well, playing in England, he could be a pick for the team.
2) Karun Nair
Karun Nair is one of the Indians who played in County 2024 and could get selected for the England Tour in 2025. After scoring a brilliant triple century, Karun Nair did not get a lot of chances with Team India. He also dropped form at the domestic level.
However, in recent years, he has been doing well. While he had a good record for Vidharba in the last Ranji season, at County Championship, he scored a couple of centuries. It is not sure which middle-order composition in Tests Gautam Gambhir will pick. Therefore, there could be an opening for Karun Nair, especially because of his current form in England and in India.
3) Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer has already made an impression in the ODI format in England. It is said in the end of August, he would be available for two FC matches for Lancashire.
India would surely want a genuine medium-pace bowling all-rounder in the side. Now that Venkatesh has gained some experience and done well in England, he could be a part of the plans, especially if he also does well in the County games.
