3 Indians who could make their ODI debut before ODI WC 2023

The upcoming Cricket World Cup is very important for Team India. It is less than 6 months before the tournament will take place. Yet, India has a few spots that are still not frozen in the playing XI. Hence, the selectors could take the risk of handing debuts to a few cricketers before the event. On that note, here, we take a look at three talented Indians who could make their ODI debut before ODI WC 2023.

1) Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh has been in fine form recently. Considering he is good against pace in the end overs, he does have an opportunity if there are any injuries in the main XI.

As seen in IPL 2023, he can don the role of a finisher to perfection. Since he is a left-hander, he would further have more opportunities since it is an attribute that India might need to execute a few matchups.

2) Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma is one of the Indians who could make their ODI debut before ODI WC 2023. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul’s injury has now put doubt on the No.4 spot in the playing XI.

Although there are other options, the name of Tilak should not be ruled out. He has the skills to excel in this role and Rohit Sharma is already aware of the same.

3) Jitesh Sharma

With Rishabh Pant’s accident, the wicket-keeper spot is now up for grabs. Although KL Rahul had taken it, with his injury, the options are getting narrowed down now. At the moment, it appears that Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the front-runners.

However, if there are any further fitness issues, Jitesh Sharma could come into the picture. He would also be a suitable pick because, unlike the others, he is a genuine middle-order batter. He can don the role of a finisher alongside Hardik Pandya in the playing XI.
