IPL 2025 could start the era of new captains in the IPL. At the same time, some of the teams will start grooming their next skipper. 1) Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma‘s form in IPL 2024 ensured that he would be a long-term player for SRH. Considering his age and the multi-dimensional contributions he could provide, he is certainly a future captaincy candidate for the side.
With Pat Cummins doing well in IPL 2024, he will get opportunities in the next campaign as well. However, Pat could pull out in the future and SRH would then need an alternative. Here is where they can groom Abhishek for the role.
2) Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar is one of the Indians who could appointed as vice-captain in IPL 2025. It would not be a surprise if RCB takes a punt on him directly as the skipper. That said, Rajat does not have captaincy experience and hence, the move may be bad.
Nevertheless, Patidar seems to have a calm head on his shoulders and can be a solid pick for the side. With an experienced name at the helm next season, he could learn the trade and become a captain in the future.
3) Rinku Singh
Yes, he might not have had a great run in IPL 2024. However, in the position that he plays, there are not many better batters than Rinku Singh at the moment. The fans love him and there is no way that KKR would release the player.
Hence, Rinku might even get groomed as a skipper for the future. He has done that role for Uttar Pradesh in the future and is capable of the task in the next few seasons.
