Usually, we do not see a lot of Indian Head Coaches for other nations. However, with more nations gaining prominence at the highest level, some of the Indian coaches are also getting important chances. In fact, in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, we will have three Indians doing the job of a Head Coach. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who are Head Coaches in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
1) Rahul Dravid – India
Rahul Dravid will be operating in his final tournament as the Head Coach in the West Indies and the USA. India will have a new Head Coach after this.
Dravid is yet to win an ICC event as a coach. This will surely be on his mind. He will want to finish his coaching stint on a high and for that, India has to go all the way.
2) Monty Desai – Nepal
Monty Desai is one of the Indians who are Head Coaches in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Monty is not new to the world of coaching. He has a wealth of experience and has been involved with various high-profile teams.
In the past, Monty has worked with international teams such as West Indies, Afghanistan and Canada. In the IPL, as well, he has worked for teams such as Rajasthan Royals. Nepal has done well under him and Monty will look to do well in the ICC event.
3) Abhay Sharma – Uganda
Abhay Sharma was recently appointed as the Head Coach of Uganda. This will be the first appearance for Uganda in a Senior Men’s ICC event. Hence, it is a big occasion for Abhay, as well.
In the past, he has worked in Indian domestic cricket. He was a part of the Delhi management, as well. It will be a fine opportunity for him to make a statement.
