Sunrisers Hyderabad have appointed Daniel Vettori as the new Head Coach of the franchise. It is surprising considering he has not done well in the past in IPL. Nevertheless, Vettori is experienced as a T20 coach now and would have some good ideas in place. The trade window will be a good chance for the Kiwi to implement a few of his plans. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians Daniel Vettori might target in the trade window for SRH.
1) KS Bharat
SRH needs a domestic wicketkeeper option in the squad. They may not be able to completely rely on Heinrich Klaasen or Glenn Phillips for the same. Since Bharat is not getting games at Gujarat, SRH could try to sign him.
Bharat can both open the batting or bat at No.3. He would be an option to play the role of an “anchor” around the aggressive batters in the squad. Also, SRH fans have long been asking for an established local player in the squad and Bharat fits the bill.
2) Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw is one of the Indians Daniel Vettori might target in the trade window for SRH. Shaw was dropped during IPL 2023 and his form since then has not been good. With Yash Dhull developing, DC could afford to release him.
For SRH, a replacement would be needed for Mayank Agarwal. Shaw would be an upgrade considering his potential and the age factor. Moreover, if Shaw clicks, he would also be an option to lead the franchise in the future.
3) R Sai Kishore
Washington Sundar’s injury issues have not allowed SRH to have a consistent spin attack. With Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed playing as spinners at GT, Sai may not get a lot of games.
If SRH can somehow sign the Tamil Nadu man, it would be a major coup. He would instantly improve the spin attack, while also adding some batting depth.
