3 Indian players who can consider themselves lucky to be a part of the South Africa Tour

India named the Test, ODI, T20I and the India A squads for the South Africa Tour. It will be close to 50 players who will travel to South Africa. While the selection of some players in India A squads is understandable, it is surprising that a few members made it to the main squad. On that note, here, we take a look at three Indian players who can consider themselves lucky to be a part of the South Africa Tour.

1) Avesh Khan – ODI squad

Avesh Khan has been consistently getting selected in India squads recently. While his attributes deserve a selection, his individual performances have not been great.

Especially with more promising players like Umran Malik not getting selected, it is a surprise that Avesh is getting repeated chances. It might, as well, be a final chance for him to impress before he has to make way for someone else.

2) Yuzvendra Chahal – ODI squad

Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the Indian players who can consider themselves lucky to be a part of the South Africa Tour. Many though that Chahal’s India career could have come to a temporary stop. However, he was a part of the Indian ODI squad.

Especially with an all-rounder and Kuldeep Yadav, Chahal can consider himself lucky to be a part of the squad. The tournament is happening in South Africa and not many spinners are needed there.

3) Jitesh Sharma – T20I squad

Jitesh Sharma has not been getting chances in the playing XI. This is despite him being a part of the squad. However, on his part, in domestic cricket, he is not in great form.

Considering players like KL Rahul and Sanju Samson are available, Jitesh can consider himself lucky to make it to the T20I squad. Also, his position as a finisher now firmly belongs to Rinku Singh. It will be interesting to see how he does.
