3 franchises that may target Travis Head for IPL 2024

Travis Head is in terrific form right now. He has been unstoppable as an opener in ODIs. Of course, he can bat in the middle-order, as well. On top of this, the Australian cricketer can offer a few overs with the ball and in the past, he has also been a part-time wicket-keeper. Hence, there would be quite a few teams that will go behind him at IPL 2024 Auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at three franchises that may target Travis Head for IPL 2024.

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB has a lot of ageing superstars and they must slowly start to find replacements for them. The first step in this agenda could be signing their former player Travis Head.

He would be a perfect signing for the franchise. The Aussie would fulfil the requirement of a left-hander in the middle order. If he can keep wickets, it would further be a bonus. In the future, he can be a suitable option to replace Faf du Plessis as an opener.

2) Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH is one of the franchises that may target Travis Head for IPL 2024. The Hyderabad-based outfit was too right-handed in IPL 2023. This put them in a spot of bother when it came to a few matchups.

Harry Brook, considering his heavy price tag, could be released. Travis Head would be the perfect replacement for him. While he can open the batting, he can also play as a middle-order batter, partnering with Heinrich Klaasen.

3) Punjab Kings

Jonny Bairstow was absent in IPL 2023 and this was a concern for PBKS. The likes of Matthew Short and Bhanuka Rajapaksa could also not do well. The team needs a reliable left-hander in the middle-order and this is why they can target someone like Travis Head.

While the opening partnership of Jonny Bairstow and Travis Head can be an explosive one, that may not be possible. Nevertheless, Travis Head can slot in the middle-order and add value to the outfit. His role as a spinner could also be used in this franchise.
