3 Former RCB Players Who Are Doing Well In IPL 2021

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have been a part of the Indian Premier League since the first edition of the tournament. Shortly known as RCB, the Bangalore-based franchise has been home to some top-quality players in the 13 years of the IPL. Speaking of their current squad, the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and Yuzvendra Chahal are RCB players right now.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have reached the final of three Indian Premier League seasons. However, they have never been able to lift the Indian Premier League. Although RCB have signed some big players, they are yet to win a title. But there are a few former RCB players who are doing well in IPL 2021 right now. Here’s a list of three such cricketers.

1. One of the most in-form former RCB players: KL Rahul

Wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul started his Indian Premier League as a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He played multiple seasons for the team and performed decently. However, the team did not retain him before the 2018 IPL Mega Auction. The Punjab Kings secured his services at the mega auction and named him their captain in 2020. As of September 24, 2021, KL Rahul is the second-highest run-scorer in the 2021 IPL season, with 380 runs to his name in eight innings. His batting average is more than 60.

2. Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore until last year. The English all-rounder did not receive consistent chances to prove himself. Soon, RCB released him and the Chennai Super Kings signed him for the 2021 IPL season. Ali has been a match-winner for Chennai as he is third in the MVP leaderboard. He has scored 229 runs and picked up five wickets for the Chennai-based franchise in eight games so far. His strike rate is 150.65.

3. Avesh Khan

Delhi Capital’s pacer Avesh Khan is the only uncapped bowler on this list. The right-arm pacer has scalped 14 wickets in IPL 2021 so far and is the second-highest wicket-taker. Not many fans would remember that Khan made his IPL debut for RCB in 2017. But now, he is with DC and performing exceptionally well.
