As per reports, RCB is set to part ways with Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar before the next season. A few reports further claim that AB de Villiers could become the new Head Coach of the franchise. A lot of team construction must happen for RCB to qualify for the playoffs next season. Here, we take a look at three former RCB players AB de Villiers might target in IPL 2024 Auctions if he becomes Head Coach of the franchise.
1) Travis Head
Travis Head is a man in form and he will surely find a franchise in IPL 2024. He is someone who is capable of taking away games from the opposition on his own.
Having played in IPL before, Head will be a good pick for the franchise. They can use him in the place of Michael Bracewell for the next campaign.
2) Adam Milne
Adam Milne is one of the former RCB players AB de Villiers might target in IPL 2024 Auctions if he becomes Head Coach of the franchise. RCB does not have too many hit-the-deck bowlers in the line-up. This is affecting them against specific teams.
To avoid this, they could go for their former player Adam Milne. Yes, he has his share of injuries but he can be a real good investment if he comes good for the outfit.
3) Devdutt Padikkal (If Rajasthan Royals release him)
With Yashasvi Jaiswal going one step higher, the chances of Devdutt Padikkal opening the batting for RR have come down. Since he commands a big salary, RR would be better off releasing the Karnataka batter.
Even RCB does not have a vacancy in the top order. However, DDP is a local boy and would do good on the home turf. If he can improve his game against the spinners and extra pace, RCB could also try him in the middle-order.
