3 foreign pacers LSG tried to sign in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not

Lucknow Super Giants did not have a great purse in the IPL 2024 Auctions. One of their sole agendas was to improve the pace attack. They had to find a replacement for Avesh Khan and then a backup for Mark Wood, who could be injury-prone. LSG did have some fine targets but could not land all of them. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three foreign pacers LSG tried to sign in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not.

1) Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri Joseph was one of the first players who was targeted by LSG. He is a hit-the-deck specialist and would have been a top option for the middle overs outside Lucknow.

However, RCB was also very much interested in his services. Since RCB had the better purse, they eventually ended up signing the West Indian cricketer.

2) Gerald Coetzee

Gerald Coetzee was supposed to be the hot cake at the auctions. However, surprisingly, he did not receive a lot of interest at the bidding event. In the end, Mumbai Indians just signed up for over INR 5 Crores.

LSG was also interested in the South African cricketer. He would have been the ideal signing for the outfit, as Coetzee has the ability to do well across conditions. The South African man would have also added some batting depth to the team.

3) Dilshan Madushanka

Dilshan Madushanka is one of the foreign pacers LSG tried to sign in IPL 2024 Auctions but could not. Another player who ended up at Mumbai Indians was initially targeted by LSG.

Dilshan Madushanka is a quality cricketer and has been doing well for a while now. While he is an expert with the new ball, he has now improved his variations at different phases of the innings. For LSG, the Sri Lankan cricketer could have been a top signing but it did not happen.
