3 foreign cricketers who could demand more than INR 20 Cr for retention before IPL 2025

As per reports, Sunrisers Hyderabad is paying INR 23 Cr to retain Heinrich Klaasen. While the IPL rules are one side, teams must work out deals with the players, as well. Especially for overseas cricketers, loyalty is not a big factor and hence, extra money could be needed to retain them. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three foreign cricketers who could demand more than INR 20 Cr for retention before IPL 2025.

Note: We have not considered Heinrich Klaasen who is reportedly already a part of this list.

1) Travis Head

Travis Head is in such form at the moment that he could deserve more than what Klaasen is getting at SRH. Hence, surely, he could ask for a sum beyond INR 20 Cr.

If he goes under the hammer, teams like Punjab Kings could shell a lot of money on him. The likes of Ricky Ponting could be desperate for a player like him. Hence, Head is worth the amount and SRH could crack a deal in that range.

2) Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is one of the foreign cricketers who could demand more than INR 20 Cr for retention before IPL 2025. His captaincy aspirations are already blocked with Gill being promoted.

With him becoming a genuine all-rounder now, the value has further increased. Therefore, he can ask GT for more money for retention.

3) Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran is a monster at the moment. His consistency is ridiculous and it is stunning that he is still very young. Of course, he is a genuine wicket-keeper and that further adds value and balance to the side.

For a team like LSG, he is a priority. Hence, there is every chance that Pooran might insist for a big fee. If available in the auctions, he will go for a big sum. Hence, he deserves the amount that he will demand.
