3 colours that IPL franchises must explore for their jerseys in the future

One aspect that IPL is lagging behind is the way the franchises design their jerseys. When you look at the other competitions such as the Hundred and the BBL, the design and the colours of the jerseys are innovative and pleasing to the eyes. However, in the IPL, most teams have a tinge of blue and very few franchises tend to experiment with their colours. Nevertheless, fans now can accept change in the colour of a jersey and a few teams could do that to stand out. On that note, here, we take a look at three colours that IPL franchises must explore for their jerseys in the future.

1) Black

When IPL started, it was the Kolkata Knight Riders that had the best-looking jersey. The black and gold combination looked very cool and fresh. When the tournament moved to South Africa in 2009, the jersey looked even better.

However, no team employs a black jersey these days. This is a universal colour and if paired with any colour, the output will be great. RCB had it for a while before they opted for another variation of blue.

2) Green

Green is one of the colours that IPL franchises must explore for their jerseys in the future. Barring RCB on their green jersey days, no team has green on their shirts.

Green is a colour that stands out. It is definitely worth it for one team to have green as the colour of the jersey. It would add more variety to the tournament in terms of aesthetics.

3) Brown

Deccan Chargers had a light brown jersey back when the IPL started. However, no team has this colour on their jersey now.

Again, it is more about teams trying to stand out and create a seperate identity. Already, Blue is MI, Red is RCB and Yellow is CSK. Hence, teams must become more innovative to establish their brands.
