3 bold retention calls RCB could take before IPL 2025

RCB has a solid core at the moment. However, it might have to be disturbed if there is a Mega Auction. In that case, they could have to make some decisions with their retention policy. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three bold retention calls RCB could take before IPL 2025.

1) Retain Cameron Green

Cameron Green did not have a great tournament in IPL 2024. At the beginning of the tournament, he was in bad form and he was dropped from the playing XI. However, after he returned, he did well with both the bat and the ball.

Considering this inconsistency and the availability issues that could come with such injury-prone players, Green could be a risky retention. However, he is a player for the future and might even be a captain in the future. Therefore, RCB could consider retaining the Australian all-rounder.

2) Retain Yash Dayal

Almost no one was happy with RCB spending so much money on buying Yash Dayal at the auctions. However, the UP pacer did well and was one of the key reasons why the team reached the semis.

Now, Yash Dayal could be hard to get back if he goes under the hammer. For RCB, they cannot afford to lose Yash as he had learnt the trick of bowling at Chinnaswamy. Hence, since he is also an uncapped player, RCB could retain Yash.

2) Retain Manoj Bhandage

Retaining Manoj Bhandage is one of the bold retention calls RCB could take before IPL 2025. The Karnataka star has been in brilliant touch in various T20 leagues. In the recent KSCA Maharaja Trophy T20, he was just sensational with his hitting.

Yes, he is yet to make his IPL debut but Manoj is now on the radar of the other franchises. It could be hard to get him back. It is always good to have a solid all-rounder and since he is also from Karnataka, even the home fans would be pleased.
