3 bold calls India must take in the 2024 T20 World Cup

Not all are happy with the squad that has been selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, the management would have discussed and debated a lot before going with this unit. Now, they must prepare to take some bold calls to win the tournament. Here, we take a look at the list of three bold calls Team India must take in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Open the batting with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

It is a hard call to leave Yashasvi Jaiswal out of the equation. However, it is hard for Virat Kohli to operate at No.3, considering the current demands of the game.

At the same time, being the captain, Rohit Sharma cannot be dropped and his best position as an opener. If Jaiswal plays, India will not have a key middle-order batter in the playing XI.

2) Play Sanju Samson as the first-choice wicket-keeper

Using Sanju Samson as the first-choice wicket-keeper is one of the bold calls Team India must take in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. Rishabh Pant has been in good form in IPL 2024. However, he is coming from a long break.

Also, it could be risky to have Pant at No.4. Instead, it is better to have Sanju at No.3 and then SKY at No.4. This would provide better balance to the batting unit. This way, Shivam Dube can be included in the team, as well.

3) Play both Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI

If the race is between Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal, India must boldly go ahead with Axar Patel. On his off-day, Chahal can leak a lot of runs.

Even Axar may not be effective with the ball on his days. However, he offers the extra batting depth, which will be of great use to the team. Of course, if India wants an extra seamer, this option will not be present.
