3 big mistakes India avoided in the 2024 T20 World Cup

Team India failed to win any ICC trophies in the last 11 years. Most of the time, there were a few common mistakes made by the management and the players. However, they did not do that in the 2024 T20 World Cup. This helped them win the trophy. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three big mistakes India avoided in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Did not slow down after early loss of wickets

Usually, we see India go into a shell after losing early wickets. This happened in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup, as well. However, that did not occur in the 2024 T20 WC.

Be it in the final or against Pakistan, the team did not lose the momentum. In the final, Axar Patel played a counter-attacking knock, which helped India stabilize in a positive direction.

2) Never gave up on the batting depth strategy

Not giving up on their batting depth is one of the big mistakes India avoided in the 2024 T20 World Cup. India was very stubborn with their need for batting depth in the 2024 T20 WC.

With conditions favouring the bowlers and when India moved to West Indies, they could have had an extra specialist bowler. However, India stuck with batting until No.8. This helped them a lot in the finals and in the other games, as well.

3) Did not experiment too much

Sometimes, trying too much might have not helped the team. In the past, as well, we have seen this happen. For the 2023 ODI World Cup final, the management might have thought a lot about the pitch. This did not well for the Indian Team.

However, in the 2024 T20 WC, India hardly moved away from their Plan A. The likes of Shivam Dube were not in form. The management could have tried something different like bringing in Yashasvi Jaiswal. They refrained and this helped the squad.
