India will surely not travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Sri Lanka and UAE are the two nations being explored as the venues for Team India. Recently, we saw the pitches in Sri Lankan assist the spinners very much. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three batters who could get a chance if India‘s Champions Trophy matches happen in Sri Lanka.
1) Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar is a terrific player of spin. In the IPL, he has done well in this regard in recent years. His strength lies in attacking the spinners, especially the leggies.
Rajat is also a good fit for the ODI format. He can play a long inning and is also capable of changing gears depending on the situation. Hence, he would be an ideal player to have in the middle-order.
2) Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the batters who could get a chance if India’s Champions Trophy matches happen in Sri Lanka. It is a shock that Ruturaj is not yet in the fray to be a part of the ODI setup. His recent performances make him one of the must-have players in the squad.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is also good against the spinners. He can also accelerate towards the end. While he is an opener, he is also capable of a job in the middle-order. Therefore, he is on this list.
3) Yashasvi Jaiswal
It is surprising to know that Yashasvi is yet to make his ODI debut. For a player who has been so good in the Test and the ODI formats, India must ensure that he is also tried in ODIs.
India would need a left-hander in the top-order if they are to remove the threat of a left-arm spinner in the powerplay. Yashasvi plays them well and also scores runs easily. Hence, he can be extremely useful.
