3 Andhra Pradesh/Hyderabad cricketers Venugopal Rao might desperately target for Delhi Capitals

In a surprising move, Venugopal Rao has replaced Sourav Ganguly as the Director of Cricket at Delhi Capitals. Many expected a big name but Delhi has hired someone not many knew. Venugopal Rao might use his knowledge of local cricket to take some decisions for DC. Here, we take a look at the list of three Andhra Pradesh/Hyderabad cricketers Venugopal Rao might desperately target for Delhi Capitals.

Note: We have considered players who could be released by their respective outfits before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Tilak Varma

A few reports suggest that Mumbai Indians will be finalizing deals for Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah for IPL 2025. All these four are marquee players and MI might lose a lot of their purse money. Hence, they could release Tilak Varma.

Tilak will be the ideal partner for Rishabh Pant in the middle order. He has the temperament to construct long knocks and that allows Pant to play freely. In the future, Tilak can also be a fine captaincy material.

2) Nishanth Saranu

Nishanth Saranu is one of the Andhra Pradesh/Hyderabad cricketers Venugopal Rao might desperately target for Delhi Capitals. A 6-foot-9 fast bowler, the tall man made his Ranji debut recently.

Surely a player for the future, Venugopala Rao would have seen his rise and might target him for his side. Hence, the youngster is on this list.

3) Shaik Rasheed

If Delhi is targeting a replacement for Prithvi Shaw and Yash Dhull, Shaik Rasheed would be the ideal choice. He has been at CSK for a while now and he knows what it is to play in the IPL.

A technically strong cricketer, Shaik has a bright future ahead of him. He keeps wickets but Delhi might not need that. They need a young batter who can be a star for the franchise in the future. Hence, the current CSK man could be the ideal pick.
