2022 T20 World Cup: 3 players who could replace Ravindra Jadeja if he is ruled out due to injury

As per reports, Ravindra Jadeja could be ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup. Earlier, due to a knee injury, the player had to miss the Asia Cup after playing two games. Now, it appears that he might not recover in time for the mega-event in Australia. It will be a big miss for Team India. However, there is depth in resources and India could manage it. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who could replace Ravindra Jadeja if he is ruled out due to injury in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

1) Axar Patel

Axar Patel has played for India whenever Ravindra Jadeja is unavailable. Even for Asia Cup 2022, the Gujarat cricketer was announced as the replacement for Jaddu.

Hence, Axar is the main choice as the replacement. As a bowler, Axar is offering better value than Jadeja in recent months. With the bat, Axar is slowly improving his performance, as seen in West Indies. Therefore, he would be adequate to fill the absence of Jadeja.

2) Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz Ahmed is one of the players who could replace Ravindra Jadeja if he is ruled out due to injury in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The West Bengal cricketer got a chance to be a part of Team India for the tour of Zimbabwe. He came in as the replacement for Washington Sundar.

In IPL 2022, the Royal Challengers Bangalore cricketer scored more than 200 runs and also collected a few wickets. In domestic cricket, he has anyways been in top touch. Hence, Shahbaz could also get a chance in place of Jadeja.

3) Krunal Pandya

A couple of months ago, Krunal Pandya was consistently featured in Team India’s plans. However, he has lost his position in the squad right now. Nevertheless, Krunal has the experience to make it count at big events and this could land him an opportunity at the T20 World Cup.

Krunal will have to improve on his skills with the bat against pace if he has to take part in the T20 WC in Australia. He should also find ways to use the pace and bounce on the wicket in his bowling. There is too little time for him to showcase this but if there are very few options on the table, the selectors could pick Krunal.
