Royal Challengers Bangalore had trouble in the wicketkeeping department in IPL 2023. Dinesh Karthik was not great with the bat and he also made a couple of mistakes with the gloves. Considering his age and the fact that he is not active in the game, RCB could look to replace him for the next season. There are some good options available in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. 1) Ajitesh G
It was a surprise that Ajitesh did not get a bid in IPL 2023 Auctions. However, the form that he is in, it would be a mistake of the IPL franchises if Ajitesh goes unsold. That said, it is highly unlikely to happen. The wicket-keeper batter has scored runs at an average of above 70 and a strike rate close to 160.
He is doing this while batting at various slots in the batting order. Ajitesh is a talent for the future and RCB must go all out to have him on the roster. He could replace DK directly and Ajitesh might not take a long time to get himself ready for the big stage in the IPL.
2) Tushar Raheja
Tushar Raheja is one of the TNPL 2023 performers who can replace Dinesh Karthik at RCB for IPL 2024. The left-handed opening batter is another player in TNPL whom RCB can target. Yes, RCB does not have an opening in the top order but they can invest in Tushar for the future.
In fact, they could already try to groom him by asking him to bat in the middle-order. It would be a challenge for him but we have seen youngsters in recent times do well in this task. Therefore, he is on this list.
