2 players you might not know played in Sachin Tendulkar’s last ODI in 2012

Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the best batter that the game has seen. He is at the top of the list when it comes to most of the batting records in Tests and ODIs. It was in 2012 in the Asia Cup against Pakistan in Dhaka that Sachin played his last ODI encounter. In his final ODI, too, Sachin did well, scoring 52 runs in just 48 balls. His knock included five boundaries and a six. It was Saeed Ajmal who took Sachin’s last ODI wicket. On that note, here, we take a look at two players you might not know played in Sachin Tendulkar‘s last ODI in 2012.

1) Ashok Dinda

Ashok Dinda is one player who belongs to the list of cricketers who did extremely well in domestic cricket but somehow failed to replicate it at the international level. In all, the West Bengal pacer played a lot of 13 ODI games.

He could collect only 12 wickets and even his economy was above 6. This number was unacceptable in ODIs and hence, Dinda had to be dropped soon. Currently, the player is into politics.

2) Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan is one of the players you might not know who played in Sachin Tendulkar’s last ODI in 2012. Yusuf Pathan is a player who did well in the short stint he had with Team India but then later had to drop out of the squad.

The Baroda all-rounder also won the World Cup for India in both the ODI and T20I formats. Yusuf had some memorable innings to his name. Interestingly, he scored runs at a strike rate above 100 in ODIs. Even for now, this is a good stat to have. Yusuf also collected 33 wickets. At the moment, Yusuf is exploring opportunities in various global T20 leagues. The player is currently part of Dubai Capitals in the International League T20. He retired from the game a few years ago.
