2 players who were part of IPL 2008 and were sold in IPL 2024 Auctions

IPL 2008 is already 15 years ago and come the next edition of IPL, it would be 16 years. We still have some players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik still a part of the tournament. However, it is rare to see a player who was in IPL 2008 getting sold in a mini-auction almost two decades later. Ahead of IPL 2024, there are some examples in this regard. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two players who were part of IPL 2008 and were sold in IPL 2024 Auctions.

1) Swapnil Singh

Swapnil Singh was a part of the Mumbai Indians setup in IPL 2008. He was 17 years old back then. Since that season, he has represented other teams such as Punjab Kings. However, he was not able to make the best use of it. Nevertheless, he has one more opportunity now.

RCB signed the all-rounder in the recent auctions. Since RCB is short of good spinners, it would not be a surprise is someone like Swapnil Singh gets a few games. He is experienced and if he can do well, it would help RCB balance the side.

2) Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is one of the players who were part of IPL 2008 and were sold in IPL 2024 Auctions. Not many expected Manish Pandey to go unsold at the auctions. However, in the first round, he went unsold. That said, in the last round, Pandey was picked up by KKR. He is a useful signing and would be a good backup for the side.

In 2008, Manish was a part of the Mumbai Indians Team. He got to play only some games before RCB picked him up. While he announced himself in Bengaluru, it was at KKR that his career hit a peak. After that, he played for teams such as SRH and LSG before KKR signed him again recently.
