Dinesh Karthik did not keep wickets against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. It seems that he could miss the next game, as well, if he does not recover. RCB will have to change the strategy in that case. Here, we take a look at two players who could replace Dinesh Karthik if he is not available for the next game.
1) Finn Allen
Josh Hazlewood has not been great in the last few games for RCB. While he is bowling a few good balls, he is not able to pick wickets consistently. On the other hand, the batting of RCB is struggling and hence, it may not be a surprise if they include another foreign batter in the squad.
Finn Allen is an opener but it won’t be a bad idea to give him a go in the middle-order. Anyways, the top-order is stacked and RCB will not be able to include Allen. Michael Bracewell is also an option in this regard but if Allen is available, RCB can afford to substitute or drop Anuj Rawat from the playing XI.
2) Suyash Prabhudessai
Suyash Prabhudessai is one of the players who could replace Dinesh Karthik if he is not available for the next game. If Anuj Rawat retains his place in the playing XI, RCB will have a straightforward decision to make when it comes to replacing DK. Suyash would come into his place and would occupy the slot at No.5 depending on the situation and context of the game.
Although the Goa batter has got a few chances, he has not been able to make the full use of it. He has also been unlucky with a few run-outs. Nevertheless, RCB does not have many other options if DK misses out. Their best bet would be Suyash because he has played a few games unlike the other members like Manoj Bhandage who are yet to make their debut in the IPL.
