With World Cup around the corner, Indian team management would be looking to rectify all the problems and the series against West Indies will be a great opportunity for them. Also with Shreyas Iyer not being there, it’ll be an opportunity for some other players to book their berth. In this piece we will take a look at 2 players that India can try at No.4 in the ODI series against West Indies in the absence of Shreyas Iyer:

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson will be the player that India can try at No.4 in the ODI series against West Indies in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. The batter has been in and out of the team but in whatever opportunities that he has got he has been staggering. With India slated to play three games, Samson will likely be part of all three games because India is without the services of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t been a great No.4 for India and therefore Sanju Samson will have a great chance to grab the spot.

Axar Patel

Another player that India can try at No.4 in the ODI series against West Indies in the absence of Shreyas Iyer is Axar Patel. The all-rounder since the last one year has been in an enthralling batting form. With Ravindra Jadeja in the team. It might be tough for the team to adjust him in the lower order. Therefore he can be there as a specialist batter and this will allow the team to play additional bowlers. Working this move out will help India find the correct balance and if Axar Patel delivers, it can be the best thing for the team.
