2 nations against whom Team India has not played a Test match in the last 15 years

India is one of the prominent Test-playing nations at the moment. Especially during the time when Virat Kohli was the skipper of India, the team’s prowess in the five-day format had hit its peak. That said, surprisingly, India has not played Tests against a few teams in the last one-and-half decade. On that note, here, we take a look at two nations against which Team India has not played a Test match in the last 15 years.

1) Pakistan

The last Test was in December 2007 at Bengaluru

Due to the political tensions between the two countries, India and Pakistan cricket squads have not been involved in bilateral series for a while now. They only compete in the shorter formats at ICC events or in the Asia Cup. However, the fans are longing for a Test battle between the arch-rivals.

While India travelled to Pakistan in 2006, it was the reverse assignment in 2007. In both cases, it was a three-match Test series. Pakistan won the series 1-0 in 2006 and India replied by winning the tournament 1-0 in 2007. India’s last Test XI that played against Pakistan included players such as Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble. The last game between the two sides ended in a draw. It now needs to be seen if the teams will get involved in a five-day match soon.

2) Zimbabwe

The last Test was in September 2005 at Harare

The fall of Zimbabwe in cricket is one of the sad stories in the game. Back then, the team was strong and actually won games consistently against the top sides. However, they are not in a great situation right now.

India and Zimbabwe first met together in a Test in 1992. Until 2005, the teams were involved in 11 Tests. In 2005, India toured Zimbabwe for a two-match Test series. India won both games. Sourav Ganguly was the captain of that Indian side. It needs to be seen if there is any possibility of this clash in the distant future.
