Mumbai Indians are in need of some fresh recruitment before the next season. Despite having a settled unit, the team finished last in IPL 2024. They could use some of their talent playing for one of their sister franchises, as well. MI New York has some serious talent and the management might use this opportunity to scout a few talented cricketers. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two MI New York players whom Mumbai Indians must target for IPL 2025.

1) Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada also plays for MI Cape Town. Hence, there is an association there, as well. There is a need for an experienced and complete bowler who can partner with Jasprit Bumrah. Kagiso Rabada would be ideal in this regard.
He is someone who can bowl at multiple phases of the game. There are different variations that he has got. He also collects wickets in a heap. All these factors make him an ideal signing for Mumbai Indians.
2) Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje is one of the MI New York players whom Mumbai Indians must target for IPL 2025. Nortje’s poor show in IPL 2024 means that he could be released by Delhi. For DC, there are other players who are ahead in the pecking order for retention.
Nortje, when in full flow, is hard to face. Mumbai Indians can hope for the South African cricketer to get back that form. If that happens, along with Bumrah, the bowling unit would be extremely dangerous. Just like Rabada, Nortje also bowls well in all the phases. In fact, in the T20 format, Nortje can be more dangerous than Rabada. Therefore, Mumbai Indians could try this signing in the upcoming Mega Auctions before IPL 2025.
