Trevor Bayliss, who had two IPL trophies to his name, was expected to help Punjab Kings do well in the IPL. Despite being two seasons in-charge, Bayliss just could not help the side reach the playoffs. It is now likely that the management might replace him for the next season. Yet again, PBKS could go for an experienced coach who had led an IPL team to the title in the past. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two IPL-winning coaches whom Punjab Kings can target as the next Head Coach.
1) Darren Lehmann
Darren Lehmann won the IPL as a player with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2008. Next year, he was named the Head Coach of the Deccan Chargers. With this team, he won the trophy as a Head Coach. In the next seasons, as well, he helped them do well. Interestingly, back in 2013, Lehmann was at the helm for PBKS, as well.
PBKS might consider going back for Lehmann in IPL 2025. He is an experienced name and has done well at the international level, too. Hence, he could be the right appointment for the team.
2) Tom Moody
Tom Moody is one of the IPL-winning coaches whom Punjab Kings can target as the next Head Coach. It is surprising that despite his success, so far, Moody is yet to get a job in the IPL as a Head Coach. Nevertheless, he is likely to get one in the upcoming seasons.
The Aussie is popular for building strong bowling attacks. He did that for SRH a few seasons ago. This helped the side do well for a few straight seasons. PBKS might need this strategy to build on the solid young talent they have. Moody is also someone who brings a personality to the dressing room. To go all the way, Punjab might just need this.
