Mike Hesson and Royal Challengers Bangalore have parted ways. Andy Flower has come on board as the new Head Coach of RCB. Hesson actually did a good job at RCB, making them one of the consistent sides in recent times. Hence, he would have suitors before the next campaign. Here, we take a look at the list of two franchises that can appoint Mike Hesson as the new Head Coach before IPL 2024.
1) Sunrisers Hyderabad
With Brian Lara as the Head Coach, SRH could not do well in IPL 2023. This is despite the team having a well-balanced squad. Therefore, the franchise might need a new philosophy and Mike Hesson would be a good choice. Although Hesson served as the Director of Cricket at RCB, he can do the role of the Head Coach in SRH.
SRH has a solid squad. It just needs some proper direction for the players to start performing well. With a few tweaks here and there, SRH can become a force for the next few seasons. Starting afresh with new management might just be the right option for the franchise.
2) Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals is one of the franchises that can appoint Mike Hesson as the new Head Coach before IPL 2024. RR under-performed with Kumar Sangakkara as the Head Coach. While Kumar can go back as the Director of Cricket, the franchise might need a new Head Coach.
Hesson can be an interesting option for this. RR has one of the best squads in the competition. They would just need a few fresh signings and some balance brought into the squad. He is also someone who backs the players to do well. Hence, the likes of Riyan Parag and Kuldeep Sen could flourish under him. These factors make the former Kiwi Head Coach a good option to become the new man at the helm for RR.
