2 former CSK players who are doing well for other teams in IPL 2023

Chennai Super Kings have actually been good in IPL 2023. After their initial loss to Gujarat Titans, many felt that they would travel the same route taken in IPL 2022. However, the squad came back to defeat two good teams and took the Rajasthan Royals game down to the wire. Meanwhile, some of the former cricketers from the franchise are doing well in other franchises. Here, we take a look at two former CSK players who are doing well for other teams in IPL 2023.

1) Faf du Plessis – Royal Challengers Bangalore

Faf du Plessis is the captain of RCB and also, one of the leading batters in the team. In the three games that RCB has played, till now, Faf has hit two fifties. Even against KKR in the second encounter, he started well.

One of the major changes from the last season has been regarding the intent. Faf du Plessis is looking to take on the bowlers in the powerplay, which is majorly helping the franchise. Also, his game against spin has improved, which has further added insurance to his stay at the crease. Of course, on the field, he has been acrobatic and is doing well as a leader, too.

2) Mark Wood – Lucknow Super Giants

Mark Wood is one of the former CSK players who are doing well for other teams in IPL 2023. The English seamer played just one season for CSK but did not get too many chances in that series.

This season marks the return of Wood to IPL after the 2018 edition. He did not take long to leave an impression as he picked up a five-wicket-haul in just his first game. Since then, he has been terrific and was the best bowler for his team against RCB. While pace is the USP for Wood, his hit-the-deck ability has troubled some of the best batters in the competition.
