English cricketers have held captaincy roles in the IPL before. A few more could get close to the responsibility in the coming weeks. Here, we take a look at the list of two English cricketers who could become vice-captain in IPL 2025.
1) Jos Buttler
Rashid Khan is also a part of Gujarat Titans. However, the management might prefer Jos Buttler as the vice-captain of the side.
The English cricketer has better experience as a skipper and has even won a T20 World Cup as a captain. Unless GT wants to groom Rashid as a future captain, there is no point in making him the vice-captain when Jos is available. Anyways, Shubman Gill will be the captain for a long time.
2) Sam Curran could become vice-captain in IPL 2025
Sam Curran is one of the English cricketers who could become vice-captain in IPL 2025. Chennai Super Kings have Ruturaj Gaikwad as the skipper of the side. They could also think of Sam Curran as his deputy.
Sam has IPL experience as a captain. He could be a future potential candidate, as well. Hence, it makes better sense to have him in the role instead of the likes of R Ashwin or Ravindra Jadeja.
