2 current Head Coaches of other nations who could apply for the role of India’s Head Coach

BCCI will be starting the procedure to hire the new Head Coach shortly. As per reports, Rahul Dravid will not apply for the role after the 2024 T20 World Cup. India’s Head Coach role is arguably the biggest in international cricket. Hence, it would not be a surprise if some of the current Head Coaches of other teams would also be interested in the role. Of course, all of it depends on their current contracts, as well. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two current Head Coaches of other nations who could apply for the role of India’s Head Coach.

1) Jonathan Trott

Trott‘s rise as a Head Coach has been immense. Guiding the Afghans in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Trott was brilliant in pulling off some memorable victories for the side. Had they started well, they would have even had a chance to reach the Top 4.

Trott would obviously aim higher as a Head Coach. For him, if he can get the assignment with the men in blue, it would be a massive step up in his career. Therefore, it would not be a surprise if the former English cricketer applies for this role.

2) Chris Silverwood

Chris Silverwood is one of the current Head Coaches of other nations who could apply for the role of India’s Head Coach. Having done so well for England, the ECB had to relieve Silverwood after the team’s performance in the Ashes a few years ago.

At Sri Lanka currently, as well, Chris Silverwood is not having a great time. It could be down to the resources available that he is not being able to provide his best. However, with the depth of resources in India, Silverwood could repeat his England displays with the men in blue. Hence, he is on this list.
