Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni produced one heck of fireworks while locking horns with Rajasthan Royals in the 17th game of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League at CSK’s fortress, Chepauk Stadium.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted a challenging total of 175 for the loss of eight wickets in their designated quota of 20 overs. Jos Buttler top-scored with 52 off 36 balls including 1 four and 3 sixes.
The four-time IPL champions literally messed up the plot in the run-chase. They ended up consuming too many dot balls against the Rajasthan Royals’ spinners and eventually lost the game.
Rajasthan Royals pull off the ropes from the jaws of defeat against Chennai Super Kings
Rajasthan Royals’ paceman, Sandeep Sharma was the hero in the final over as he kept the CSK batters namely, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja silent. His fantastic bowling performance helped Rajasthan Royals secure a thriller win over CSK.
Unfortunately, CSK didn’t come out on top in MS Dhoni’s 200th game as captain. Rajasthan Royals won the thriller by three runs and notched up only their second win at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
